Establishment of the frost warning service and development of orchard heaters / J. Edgar Adamson and Grace Steffa Adamson. 1963.

Adamson tells of his boyhood activities, his employment by water companies, the planting and cultivation of the family citrus groves. He describes in detail the various devices used to combat frost in the orchards. The Adamsons, father and son, were instrumental in establishing a frost warning service in the Pomona Valley. Adamson tells about taking tempature readings and warning the growers. He also mentions the coming of Floyd Young from the U.S. Weather Bureau and the elaborate system Young worked out for measuring and predicting temperatures.
